UK Train Companies

Since the demise of British Rail the track and stations and infrstructure have been split up from the train operating side of the business. The UK railways network has been split up into 26 separate train operating companies who each run train services (generally) for a given geographical area.

Arriva Trains Wales

Arriva trains Wales run the regional railways services in and around Wales. They also run some services from Wales and the west of England into London.

 


C2C

C2C run rains on the lines between London Fenrchurch Street and London Liverpool Street through East London and Essex out to Southend and the Essex coast.

 


Central Trains

Central trains run regional railway services in and about the midland. They also run services from Liverpool and Manchester down to Stansted airport, and services into London.

 


Chiltern Railways

Chiltern Railways run services between the west midlands and London Marylrbone station.

 


First Great Western

First Great western are the train company that runs the intercity services to Wales and the West Country out of London Paddington.

 


First Scotrail

Runs regional rail services throughout Scotland and between Scotland and London.

 


Gatwick Express

Offers a frequent and fast train service between London Victoria station and Gatwick Airport.

 


GNER - Great North Eastern Railway

GNER run the high-speed intercity rail service between London, the Northeast of England and the East coast of Scotland.

 


Heathrow Express

The Heahtrow express is a fast and frequent rail link between London Paddington station and Heathrow Airport.
